Terms of Service
Contents
These Terms of Service apply to every application for a Znole Freelancer ID Card and to the use of any card that has been issued. Please read them carefully before you apply. By submitting an application and completing payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
1. About the card
The Znole Freelancer ID Card is a professional identity credential issued by Znole Technology Private Limited (CIN U58201UP2025PTC235150), a company incorporated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The card is issued through Znole X, which is operated by Znole Technology Private Limited.
The card was launched across India in 2025 to give freelancers a verifiable way to prove they are real, KYC-verified professionals, and to give clients a reliable way to distinguish genuine freelancers from bad actors.
2. What the card is and is not
The card is
- Proof that the holder has completed identity verification with Znole Technology, including Video KYC and document checks.
- A verifiable credential, with a unique ID number and QR code that any client can check on the Znole X verification portal.
- A pan-India credential, recognised across every Indian state and union territory.
The card is not
- A guarantee of any deal, contract, income, or client engagement. Whether you close a deal depends on your own experience, workflow, and communication.
- A government-issued document. It is a private professional credential.
- A license to practice any regulated profession or trade.
- A rating or endorsement of your skill. It certifies identity, not competence.
3. Eligibility
You may apply for a card only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 16 years old on the date of application.
- You are a real, practising freelancer offering professional services.
- You ordinarily reside in India and can provide a valid Indian delivery address.
- The application is made in your own legal name, not on behalf of anyone else.
4. Accurate information
Every field in the application form must be filled in truthfully. This includes your full name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, complete delivery address, professional details, and every uploaded document and photograph.
If the card cannot be delivered because you entered incorrect address details, contact details, or personal details, the responsibility rests with you. Znole Technology is not liable for a failed delivery caused by information you supplied incorrectly.
5. Video KYC
Every application must complete Video KYC. Your face must be clearly visible in every required capture. If your face is obstructed, if the lighting is too poor to verify, or if the identity does not match the uploaded document, the KYC will be marked as failed and the card will not be issued.
Video KYC must be recorded live by you at the time of application. Pre-recorded videos, screen recordings, deepfakes, or morphed images will result in permanent rejection and may be reported to authorities.
6. Delivery
The card is a physical credential and is delivered to the address you provide.
- The first delivery attempt is included in the application fee. Nothing extra is charged for it.
- If the first attempt fails for a reason attributable to you (wrong address, unreachable phone, no one to receive, refusal to accept), the responsibility is yours.
- A second delivery attempt can be requested by paying a re-delivery charge of ₹55.
- If you do not request a second delivery, the card is held safely by Znole Technology. You can request delivery of the held card at any later date by paying the applicable delivery charge in force at that time.
Full timelines, charges, and edge cases are set out in the Shipping & Delivery Policy.
7. Refunds
The application fee is non-refundable once payment is completed. The fee covers identity verification, physical card production, and the first delivery attempt. All of these are incurred the moment your application enters the system.
Full details, including the narrow exception for duplicate payment charges, are in the Refund Policy.
8. Use of the card
The card belongs to you personally. You may show it, its ID number, or its QR code to any client in the course of professional work. You may display it on your profiles and portfolios. You may share the verification link so clients can independently confirm your identity.
You may not transfer, lend, sell, or allow anyone else to use your card, your ID number, or your QR code. You may not modify the card, imply endorsement by Znole Technology, or use the card in the course of any illegal activity.
9. Fraud complaints
Any client may raise a fraud complaint against a cardholder by submitting the cardholder's ID number and details of the alleged fraud through the official complaint channel.
The complaint is registered with the review team. The cardholder is informed of the allegation and given a fair opportunity to respond with evidence. The review team examines both sides.
- If fraud is established on the basis of evidence, the cardholder's ID may be permanently suspended, and further action may follow as permitted by law.
- If fraud is not established, no adverse action is taken.
If a complaint is found to have been filed without cause, with the intent to damage a freelancer's career, Znole Technology reserves the right to protect the freelancer and take appropriate legal action against the complainant under applicable Indian law.
10. Data and legal requests
Your information is never sold, rented, or shared for marketing or commercial purposes. It is shared only if a lawful order is received from a competent Indian government authority, court, or law enforcement agency, and only to the extent required by that order.
Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
11. Replacement
You may request a replacement card once every six months, subject to the replacement charge in force at the time. Replacement is available in cases of loss, damage, wear, or a change in printed details.
12. Suspension and termination
Znole Technology may suspend or terminate a card if:
- A fraud complaint is established through the review procedure in Section 9.
- The card is used in a manner prohibited by Section 8.
- The information provided during application is discovered to be materially false.
- A lawful order requires suspension.
Suspension removes the card from the public verification directory. You will be informed by email of the suspension and the reason for it.
13. Changes to these terms
The application form, required documents, price of the card, delivery charges, and these Terms may be updated from time to time. The version in force on the date you apply is the version that governs your application. Continued use of an issued card after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Znole Technology is not responsible for any business outcome, deal, or income you do or do not secure using the card. Znole Technology is not responsible for the acts of any client, third party, or courier partner.
Znole Technology's total liability in relation to any card or application is limited to the application fee paid for that card.
15. Grievance officer
In compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, we have appointed a Grievance Officer to handle complaints.
- Email: [email protected]
- Address: Znole Technology Private Limited, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India
- We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. We ask that you try to resolve any dispute in good faith through the Grievance Officer before starting legal proceedings.
